The trouble with school is that they are always trying to teach the wrong lesson. The school in the United States, especially high schools have allowed students to become mediocre and ruin the responsibilities that they need to learn. For example, teachers in high school and we have all had these teachers allow us to turn in thing extremely late and provide students with extra credit to boost their grades. What does this teach the youth of tomorrow? It allows students to believe that everything that they got away with in high school they can get away with in college. This causes student to believe that they have many chances to make up the mistake they have made. When in reality they don't have anytime at all. There's a quote that an instructor once said to me...."There is no love in the heart of time." What you do one moment can effect you, cause what you did in that moment like waste time or be immature ou can't get that time or that chance again cause it is more than likely that you have made a very bad impression of yourself. I have a friend who is in school with me, and he has been a slacker for a long time. But he seems to not get the fact that this is a one chance opportunity. In this first week of school, he has already skipped his math class thrice. But as a friend you can only do so much before you fond that you are kicking a dead horse.
You know teachers in high school tell you that you will get an optimal education... But in reality that is not true. So I think that our public school systems need to go back in time. Teachers need to be there to teach because they want to not just to get paid. Teachers motivate and inspire people. It's always the good teachers we remember rather than the bad ones. So schools need to add expectations and if they don't want to do them, then they will go no where in life. It's your life, live it!
